Do You Have a “Busy” Life?

How often do you rush through your day from sunrise to sunset… then settle down wondering where the time went? It’s true that many of us in these modern times find ourselves overwhelmed with the responsiblities of our daily lives.

Do you have an overwhelmingly busy life?As we rush through our day, we may find ourselves barely able to find time to eat and nourish our bodies while fighting to keep up with our schedules.

What about our spiritual nourishment? What becomes of us while we rush to keep up with the everyday worries and distractions of our lives?

Sometimes people identify with feelings of emptiness or loss of direction because they have long starved their needs for spiritual nourishment and revival.

What 10 Minutes Can Do

10 minutes for God is a response to this inner need for balance in our daily lives. The sentiment of thisTake time to pray. blog project’s title is that we can all accomplish big goals if we start with small, achievable tasks.

“10 minutes” is a challenge to our readers to take time out in their day to pray, meditate or reflect on God and His presence in our lives… it begins by planning for just ten minutes each day – and it grows to newer, higher levels as you find the inspiration and the desire to nurture your spirit and grow your relationship with God.

It’s in the Little Things

Blogging or journalling is one way to keep up a ten minute commitment. Likewise also for reading scripture, reciting favorite prayers or simply meditating over something we are thankful for. We can learn this in the example of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, who is known for her “Little Way.”

In her quest for sanctity, she realized that it was not necessary to accomplish heroic acts, or “great deeds”, in order to attain holiness and to express her love of God. She wrote,

“Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show my love? Great deeds are forbidden me. The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love.”

Indeed, our devotions to God need not be fancy, ornate or heroic. But in our efforts to try and start our worship, we are moving ourselves and our souls closer to Him. Then again, who knows what greater deeds we are capable of when we start with just 10 mintues

We challenge you now, as our readers, to take it upon yourself to spend just 10 minutes daily (or at any frequency you prefer) to invite God and His many blessings into your life.
